My Ascot Chang Custom Suit

Since there are no events to cover (or even hangouts with friends too turn into editorials), I thought it would be nice to finally write an essay on one of my most requested garments: my custom suit from Ascot Chang, cut from blue Crispaire.

I went through the commissioning experience over a year ago, so my memory might be fuzzy and there aren’t as many detailed pics, but I hope you all enjoy it.  It was rather nice to walk through memory line and revisit what it was like to get one of the best (and highest quality) suits I own.

A Second Try at Indochino : The Navy Blue DB Suit

It’s been over a year since I’ve purchased an Made-to-Measure suit from Indochino.  Now I realized that there were many issues with my first suit made from them, even though I got measured by their own sales associates in their store.  The suit looked pretty good after tailoring (and  I did get another suit made from them) but I decided not to try them again until I had the money and desire for another suit.  Now that I’ve had sometime to learn more about fit, details, and my overall desired aesthetic, I thought I’d save up and give them other try!  I also realized that I had a gaping hole in my wardrobe: I didn’t own a plain, navy blue double breasted suit.  So I deleted my measurements, got measured by my friend Spencer, and bought a suit on Black Friday.  It’s basically a whole new review on Indochino.

Purchased on eBay: The 1960’s Ivy Suit

A lot of people don’t like buying clothes from eBay.  Sellers don’t often provide accurate measurements, they don’t accept returns, and sometimes the items are just not what you expected.  However, I don’t believe that this should bar you from trying to buy on eBay. You might be able to find something awesome, like I did with my “new” 1960’s ivy suit.
