I never thought I’d be writing about the late 60s-70s, much less feel like it’s had an impact on my style. Perhaps it’s because I grew a beard and started growing out my hair.
But certainly the wide lapels, long collars, and runaway collars already have a place in my existing style? Read on.

Since there are no events to cover (or even hangouts with friends too turn into editorials), I thought it would be nice to finally write an essay on one of my most requested garments: my custom suit from Ascot Chang, cut from blue Crispaire.
I went through the commissioning experience over a year ago, so my memory might be fuzzy and there aren’t as many detailed pics, but I hope you all enjoy it. It was rather nice to walk through memory line and revisit what it was like to get one of the best (and highest quality) suits I own.

We may not be able to hang out and dress up with friends in real life, but luckily my friends and I all have a game that allows us to do that on an island paradise.
And to my surprise, the clothing offered was amazing. Even better than my own closet in some cases!
Up until college, I wore hoodies and sweatshirts all the time. Suddenly, I cast them away, finding them lazy and illfitting for a gentleman in tailoring.
Then after years of breaking that cringey mindset, I find myself wearing them again, this time with a new mentality and method that would have melted 2013 Ethan’s Gatbsy-loving brain.

A knit tee that looks like it came straight from the 1940’s but is totally wearable today. And all the proceeds even go to charity! What’s better than that?
I finally made a list of my favorite menswear spots I go to here in Southern California. I may not buy anything every time, but it’s always great to check in and see how Menswear is doing!

For quite a long time, I’ve been finding inspiration from modern sources, say from Drake’s or Bryceland’s. In this article, we go back to the past for some ideas and style cues.
