Time keep our layering theme going by visiting the deep reaches of my wardrobe and bringing out some cool, unique vintage outerwear!
If you don’t have a desire to wear vintage tailoring but want to achieve a vintage look, don’t worry- it’s as easy as wearing a striped shirt and patterned tie.
Instantly looks old school and displays a mastery over classic style, while still looking easy!
Twice a year, Dapper Day organizes an outing to Disneyland. It’s an opportunity to step out into the parks in style, whether its vintage, modern, or somewhere in-between! If you’ve been following this blog, you know that for the past two years we’ve gone and documented our own vintage style and this one was no exception! I’ve always loved vintage jackets. They’re full of character and details that you can just seldom find today! We’ve talked about Field Jackets and leather jackets before, but there’s one king for lightweight casual wear and that’s the gabardine (gab) short jacket. Last time we talked about the tattersall waistcoat, a garment with a checked pattern that instantly screams vintage when it’s worn with a suit or separates. For those of you looking for a throwback ivy style, the tattersall is for you. However, we here at Street x Sprezza are always looking for ways to look even older. I’ve been meaning to go to SF (and the Bay Area) and shop around for a long time. The last time I went was two years ago when Tim and I stumbled upon Haight Street and its awesome vintage stores. I planned to go for my 21st birthday in July, but circumstances arose that only allowed us to go during this past September Weekend! Spencer, Jeremiah and I (the Spring 2016 Dapper Day crew) were only able to spend two nights/one day in the Area but it was definitely a lot of fun, especially since we were able to dress up and walk around!
Pleats and high waist pants are finally coming back into the minds of everyday people, being present at Pitti Uomo and other sartorial gatherings. Fashion isn’t always new, with discerning gentlemen always looking toward the golden age of menswear (1930-1960) for inspiration to their latest suits. B&Tailor has started offering a certain style of trouser that instantly screams 1940-1955: the drop loop pant.
