Dapper Day Visits the Natural History Museum
Warning: Post is slightly NSFW due to tattoo exhibit pictures.
Unlike the nocturnal escapades of Ben Stiller’s Larry Daley, the guys and I only spent an afternoon at the museum. Luckily, there we didn’t have any trouble from the tablet of Ahkmenrah.
Snapshots at The Bloke’s Launch Party
I know we’ve already posted an article for the week, so here’s a little bonus content. I was invited to go to the official launch of The Bloke, LA’s latest haberdashery, and it was a gas. I never get to go to events like this!
Vintage Menswear Details They Don’t Do Anymore
Extra Long Blog Post!
One of the questions I get from guys who have come across my style is “why do you like vintage”? Well the truth of the matter is, I don’t always like to wear vintage. There are a few things that modern manufacturers get right that I enjoy (extremely soft tailoring is one). If I had the money, I could possibly have an entire bespoke wardrobe. However there’s one main reason why I always return to vintage and that’s due to the details that they just don’t do anymore.
The Bloke: A New Haberdashery in LA
This weekend, the guys and I decided to check out the latest LA destination for classic menswear: the Bloke. This is going to be a long post.
My Search for Brown Suede Chukkas ft. the Kempton Boot from Loake
I guess my posts are just long now, deal with it.
For those of you who follow my instagram account, you’ll know that I’ve been looking for a good pair of suede chukka boots for a little while now. They’re a classic piece of menswear that can go with almost everything in your wardrobe (no surprise there). After considering my options, I finally got some. They’re actually the first piece of footwear that I’ve paid full price on.
I Bought Three Suits for $75

Buying a three piece, chalk stripe, half lined, high rise trouser suit for $3 is probably a once-in-a-lifetime situation. Getting three suits for $25 each, however, is still pretty damn good! Don’t worry, this isn’t an ad for Jos A. Bank; it’s more of advice to always check eBay since you never know what you’re going to find!
Dressing Like Drake’s: Denim, Sportcoat, and Sweater Vest
Drake’s London is one of my favorite RTW companies that I’ve discovered during the course of my blogging. I think I’ve mentioned it many times (here especially), but their ties are probably the closest I’ve seen to 1930’s style ones especially due to the fact that they are usually untipped with handrolled edges. Overall, I’ve been a fan of the Drake’s style and I decided to dress in their style for this blog post! Not every brand (or blog) can advocate these three pieces to be worn together: a sportcoat, denim, and a sweater vest.
Drake’s London for Less: The Fall ’16 Lookbook

<Drake’s is a company that we’ve referenced many times through the course of this blog. For those of you who are familiar with the company, they first got their start in the 1970’s selling ties and pocket squares. 30 years later, the company has expanded their product offering! They’ve begun to offer shirts, sportcoats, sweaters, and (now) high-rise pants! To celebrate their latest products and the opening of their first American store, I decided to do an “Inspiration for Less” based on their newly released Fall 2016 look book.
