Why You Should Consider Vintage Ties from the 1930s-1940s

Vintage and vintage inspired looks are what comprise a majority of this blog. Now Spencer and I agree that you don’t have to stick with one area to dress well. You can always wear tailored thrifted trousers or a modern suit to create a look that takes cues from both contemporary and Golden Era looks. However, if you really want to have a look that truly throws it back to the 1920s-1940s, there’s one thing you can’t skimp out on: the tie. The fact that these vintage ties have such a unique print, fabric, and construction makes it as if you’re wearing a piece of sartorial art around your neck.
Changing it up With Gurkha Shorts
My love of high waisted trousers and pleats has finally culminated to me searching for ghurka shorts which feature a high rise and double forward pleats. Amazingly, they’re great and I wholeheartedly recommend them to you. Why wouldn’t you want something like these for your vintage or vintage inspired wardrobe?
London Calling

London was the last half of my family euro-trip. Unlike in Paris, we only had a few guided tours, which freed me up to explore on my own and meet some cool people! The LVC 1878 “Pantaloons”
It doesn’t matter if you like Scandinavian minimalism, workwear, or something tailor-focused;you gotta have jeans. I am no stranger to denim, but I never thought I’d get jeans from 1878. These were such an oddity but they fit well, so I bought them.
Drake’s London for Less: The Fall ’16 Lookbook
<Drake’s is a company that we’ve referenced many times through the course of this blog. For those of you who are familiar with the company, they first got their start in the 1970’s selling ties and pocket squares. 30 years later, the company has expanded their product offering! They’ve begun to offer shirts, sportcoats, sweaters, and (now) high-rise pants! To celebrate their latest products and the opening of their first American store, I decided to do an “Inspiration for Less” based on their newly released Fall 2016 look book.
Three DBs, Three Styles
This past weekend, I decided to challenge my self and wear a Double Breasted jacket every day. Most guys don’t like to wear double breasted suits and blazers since they think it’s too old school or it never fits right. Well, I’m here to prove you wrong; the double breasted jacket is awesome and is a definite great addition to your sartorial wardrobe. To add to the fun, I also decided to take the opportunity and craft outfits for three of my favorite styles!
Street x Sprezza takes Dapper Day Spring 2015
Dapper Day is a bi-annual event that takes place at Disneyland and Disneyworld. As annual pass holders, Tim and I are always there every year and this time we brought along our friend Spencer! Now, Dapper Day was inspired by the fact that concept art of Disneyland was made in the 1950’s and back in those days, people still dressed up! For our outfits, we decided to go a bit earlier and be the most dapper and well dressed we could be.
“Manners Maketh Man”: Two Outfits from Kingsman, The Secret Service
A few weeks ago, I was able to watch Kingsman, a British spy/comedy movie. In the movie, Colin Firth’s character “Galahad” (his Kingsman codename), repeatedly said “manners maketh man” before he kicked some bad guy butt. Throughout the film, there were many references to gentlemanly fashion, such as “oxfords, not brogues” (oxfords are plain, while brogues have the wingtip design) and the importance of a well tailored suit. In fact, the suits in the universe of the film were even bulletproof! Here, I show off two outfits inspired by two characters from the film: Galahad and Merlin.
