Guys tend to have one style. Raj for example, only sticks to the preppy essentials. Jay on the other hand doesn’t limit himself to just one specific style; he has such an expansive closet that he can create a series of different looks. Having a diverse style allows you to break out of your comfort zone and have outfits for any occasion. In this feature, Jay wears three different outfits that really break the mold.
1. The Streetwise Jogger
“Now what we have going on here is a hype beast/new era flare with the diagonally patterned colors, including leather. For this outfit I really tried to utilize the accessories I owned and be simple with the layout and placement. This would be exceptionally presentable at a party with friends or a day out somewhere open and adventurous.”
You should always buy whatever stands out to you, whether you’re thrifting or shopping. If it were me, I would have definietly bought this tri-colored shirt! It’s a stand out piece that Jay grounds with grey joggers and roshes.
Like I’ve said before, a button up shirt is a great way to layer over a tee, especially if is hot. Thanks to the shirt having basic colors (white, black, and blue), the washed-denim shirt is a natural choice for this outfit. It’s very trendy yet “Jay”.
It’s not seen in the picture, but Jay even has pin-buttons on his shirt. Small accessories are a great way to add your personal touch to an outfit.
he shirt is from Topman and the knit joggers from Pacsun, following the current trend. Here the bracelet is from Cotton On and the necklace from a pier shop in San Francisco. The watch is from Fossil and sunglasses from Urban Outfitters

2. The Urban Artist
“This is kind of my go to ensemble. I like to rock my sperry’s because they’re probably the most comfortable shoes I own! The joggers again serve as a casual but sporty look with the patterned socks. I tend to always go for that sporty casual style, yet make it different every time. This outfit is ideal for a night out with the boys or a city drive.”
I am loving Jay’s looks more and more. Firstly, that paint splattered shirt is dope; the fit is on point and the pattern makes it the standout of his look. He tends to go for loud shirts, huh?
If you notice, Jay’s accessories stay the same. He keeps the same necklace, watch, bracelet, and sunglasses. I think it’s great because they’re apart of his character and helps him truly own the outfit.
What do you do when you tend to have a lot of one color? You add a splash! Jay’s burgundy track jacket is dark enough to really ground the outfit. Any other bright color and it would’ve looked too “try hard”. He clearly knows the rules.
The use of sperrys (a preppy essential) is an interesting one but Jay rocks the crap out of them. Wearing them with tribal print socks is another bold move for the outfit. It’s a bit “streetwear on top-hipster on bottom.”

3. The Young Entrepreneur
“Finally, this outfit is one of my styles for a church service or expensive dinner with the significant other. . Its cool to note the socks; they provide contrast from the pant’s fleece. This is definitely my formal but contemporary look because I’m only into skinny ties and fitted pants when it comes to more upscale looks.”
The man can dress up too; is there anything he can’t do??
Jay loves everything super fitted and I love it. Having baggy clothes is a no go and can instantly kill your look even if you think you’re dressed to the nines. Jay masters his sartorial fit again shows his mastery of mixing different patterns. Just look at that floral tie and the fleece flecked pants.
As a master of details, Jay even compliments his tie and his socks together! That’s a touch I should learn from.
It’s also important to let you guys know that his amazing captoe shoes were thrifted. Never pass up your local Goodwill; you never know what treasures are in it!

Overall, it was great to shoot Jay and have the pleasure of knowing him better. Rest assured, he will definitely be featured on the blog often. He’s a chill guy with great style, an excellent shopper, and a master of mixing patterns. If you look at the details for each outfit, you’ll see that Jay buys from totally different stores and finds ways to put them together! These skills don’t just apply to dressing up formally; these can be applied for party attire or even a casual outfit for a night out.
