It’s time to share the spotlight this week by showcasing some of our favourite guys and their awesome style! Even though it’s hot we’re still able to look good. And that’s all that matters, right?
Here at SxS, we want to show you a variety of personal styles so you can see that while most of us do dress up, we do it in certain ways that make it distinctly unique to us! For this feature, we took some pictures of what the Team and some contributors were wearing this past week and made a post! Let us know which your favourite outfit was!
Guys tend to have one style. Raj for example, only sticks to the preppy essentials. Jay on the other hand doesn’t limit himself to just one specific style; he has such an expansive closet that he can create a series of different looks. Having a diverse style allows you to break out of your comfort zone and have outfits for any occasion. In this feature, Jay wears three different outfits that really break the mold.
Nothing says classy like the little black dress. What better day to show it off than Dapper Day?
Dapper Day is a bi-annual event that takes place at Disneyland and Disneyworld. As annual pass holders, Tim and I are always there every year and this time we brought along our friend Spencer! Now, Dapper Day was inspired by the fact that concept art of Disneyland was made in the 1950’s and back in those days, people still dressed up! For our outfits, we decided to go a bit earlier and be the most dapper and well dressed we could be.
A few weeks ago, I was able to watch Kingsman, a British spy/comedy movie. In the movie, Colin Firth’s character “Galahad” (his Kingsman codename), repeatedly said “manners maketh man” before he kicked some bad guy butt. Throughout the film, there were many references to gentlemanly fashion, such as “oxfords, not brogues” (oxfords are plain, while brogues have the wingtip design) and the importance of a well tailored suit. In fact, the suits in the universe of the film were even bulletproof! Here, I show off two outfits inspired by two characters from the film: Galahad and Merlin.
The “Battle of Los Angeles” is one that is shrouded in controversy. In late February, 1942 there was a rumored enemy attack which resulted in machine gun and anti-aircraft guns being fired which resulted in panic and conspiracies. However, in 2015 it’s simply an event to celebrate veterans, the armed forces, and the 1940’s. At the event, I saw vintage collectors, reenactors, performers, and just normal people getting into the vintage spirit. Here, we show off some of the best looks from the event!
You’ve got the girl and it’s serious. This may be the first fancy dinner you’re gonna have. Maybe its the first time you’ve ever set reservations! Or maybe it’s an anniversary and you want to go somewhere mature and classy, just like your relationship. Whatever the case is, this Valentine’s Day may be the time for your Fancy Dinner. And whenever you have a fancy dinner, there is only one acceptable uniform: suit and tie. Here, the guys put one last outfit together to show how they would dress on a fancy dinner date.
For our second feature in our Valentine’s Day series, we have the Girlfriend Date. This one goes out to all you gents who’ve locked down that wonderful lady you’ve had your eye on. Maybe its the same girl you used your First Date look on! Or maybe you’ve already been dating her for a while. Whatever the case is, there’s no need to hold back this time; dress like you.
