The Armoury has always been a deep source of inspiration for my outfits, due to their “international classic” aesthetic and their stylish staff. We’ve already replicated outfits from Dick Carroll’s ivy-trad style and Jake Grantham‘s 1980’s redeux, but now it’s time to look to Mark Cho, one of the founders of the Armoury.
It’s not everyday that that you get an email inviting you to be a host of an event. Imagine my surprise when Justin Jorgensen, creator and mastermind behind Dapper Day at Disneyland, invited me to be one for their collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The event revolved around two things: “Jazz at LACMA” (their weekly summer concert) and their latest exhibit, “Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015”. It was Dapper Day x LACMA.
Usually I’m in some form of #menswear, whether it is a suit or a blazer. However, there are a few days when I’m actually dressed down. I’ve always been a fan of normcore and certain types of streetwear, and I’m always looking for an opportunity to show it off, even if it is a rare occassion. What do you think?
Contrary to popular belief, there are times when I get inspiration from people other than tailors, designers, and other sartorial enthusiasts. When going casual, I often look to my friends for outfit ideas. Thanks to MFA on reddit, I’ve been able to become friends with Matt, who is one of the best and most creatively dressed people I’ve come to know. He is my inspiration for this post.
Because this is a blog, and not a newspaper, I’ve decided to focus more on individual outfits and blog about them. Doing so creates more content for my readers and lets go more indepth on why I picked what I wore and how I came up with it! Dapper Day is my version of Pitti Uomo; street style abounds! People are able to go around Disneyland and dress up in style, whether its vintage, vintage inspired, or modern! Since it is Spring, the guys and I decided to take our vintage style to the next level. Most people make the misconception that vintage clothes are all made of thick wools and are only available in muted, boring colors. However, the 1940’s were still stylin’ in hot weather! They had a variety of fabrics that were still breathable and and comfortable to wear and were especially light colored for spring and summer fashion! Our outfits for Spring Dapper Day give you real evidence that vintage suit style is still creative, fun, and colorful!
Every year, La Sierra University hosts a Meet the Firms Night, an event where business and students get to interact and develop their networks. Unfortunately, people come to the event wearing the most basic corporate attire, students and businesses included. However, there were some individuals who stood out to me among the sea of boring black suits. Kudos to these guys for being able to look stylish and professional, as they handed out resumes for potential jobs or advertised their business to the people in attendance.
Fall is supposed to be the time of year when the weather starts to cool down a bit, but that definitely wasn’t the case for this Dapper Day. Even though the temperature was almost 100 degrees on Dapper Day, park-goers still showed up in their classy clothes! Here, we look at some of the awesome menswear that we thought stood out to us!

As I’ve admitted many times before, I have not always dressed well. In fact, it took me halfway into my first year at college for me to start wearing button up shirts (that didn’t fit). What inspired me to dress well was looking at the guys on campus who looked like I wanted to look. They walked around with confidence, each having their unique outfit that made them special.
