Sweaters have been around for a long time. Today, guys mainly wear them two ways: as a replacement shirt (crew neck) or as a layering item for business casual (v-neck). Don’t get me wrong, sweaters are great! However, there is something about the styles and patterns of vintage sweaters that make them such an awesome piece for me. They go great with more formal clothes, to give you that smart, “vintage” look!
Dapper Day is the best bi-annual event of the year. It’s a day where you get to show up to the Disneyland park instyle, whether its vintage or modern! As expected, Spencer and I strolled around in our vintage outfits. Last time, we styled ourselves with the sharp peak lapels of the 1930’s, but this time we went 10 years later as the more laid back and swingin’ 1940’s.
Let’s end the week with some great styles from my friends! There’s a variety of different styles here along with a very special guest! Read More
It’s been a while since we’ve seen some other vintage styles! Luckily, I was invited to McGinty’s in Pasadena for a preview opening of their new menswear section. Apparently, all of this stuff has been kept in storage containers for 14 years and now we got to take a look! Even though there was some awesome stuff for sale, the guys that went didn’t look too shabby either! Here’s some great looks!

Last week, it went down to 70 degress in Southern California; something unexpected for May. We’ve been doing a lot of modern trends lately, but today let’s go back to the “good ‘ol days” and check out some classic vintage layering! Each of us has our own favourite era of menswear, and today we show you how the late 30’s and 50’s did it!
It is my belief that the rise of menswear in this modern era has its roots in the critically-acclaimed show “Mad Men”. Guys started wearing suits more, putting a pocket square in that razor thin square fold, and even brought the fedora back in some circles. A while ago, I had the pleasure of shooting Spencer and Jay, the most well dressed high schoolers I know. They love the show and carefully evoke the style in their outfits. As we had a swell dinner at South Coast Plaza, I just had to snap some pictures of these guys!
Part Two is now here! Here we look at some of the fashions in the afternoon as well as in the the Dapper Day Expo in the Grand Californian! We even had the chance to take a picture with Justin Jorgensen, the creator of Dapper Day!
Nothing says classy like the little black dress. What better day to show it off than Dapper Day?
The “Battle of Los Angeles” is one that is shrouded in controversy. In late February, 1942 there was a rumored enemy attack which resulted in machine gun and anti-aircraft guns being fired which resulted in panic and conspiracies. However, in 2015 it’s simply an event to celebrate veterans, the armed forces, and the 1940’s. At the event, I saw vintage collectors, reenactors, performers, and just normal people getting into the vintage spirit. Here, we show off some of the best looks from the event!
